Maita, weeping, sought Sophrenia from where she stood dumbly staring at the ashes of the hellhound. Maita threw her arms around her and practically collapsed on her shoulders. Sophrenia almost fell under the sudden weight.
“Il es…no…he /was/ dear to me, Soph-renia. I loved him, mi pequeña hermana!” It did not escape Sophrenia’s notice that she had abandoned the affectionate nickname “Roja” as Maita blew her nose into her own sleeve and wiped her eyes. “How do you say…annoying brother, but mi hermanito. Oh, Soph-renia. Lo siento. Lo siento!”
